Duffy was raised by his Mom, her brother Jack, and his grandma, affectionately dubbed 'Nana'. Jack goes to prison the same year [1975] Nana dies, thus making childhood hard for Duff to recall. He doesn't use his real name, as you may have noticed. It's a few parts paranoia and a few parts hating it, and all parts not wanting to remember. Not because he's suffered some huge traumatic thing, but just, simply, because he's Mrs. Sensitive (with capitals).

This is a "period" muse, or a muse from the past. I do mix in some 2000 references but for all intents and purposes, Duff is a product of the 80s. This is done by the clever use of handwaving.

As also may have been brought to your attention: Duffy has no left arm. It happened in a DUI accident just "two years" ago (for him this would be 1984). He was in the passenger's side when a friend drove [drunkenly] into a light pole. His arm was insalvageable and had to be amputated [just above the elbow].

He is not overly sensitive about the arm, and will [usually] answer questions without much of a problem. Though seemingly much more minor things can easily set him off.

Also: he loves mac and cheese, wonders how it would be on toast, and his favorite color is pink. He is also gay and openly so.

Duff had dreams of becoming a rockstar before his accident, and actually has a pretty decent voice. He has retaught himself how to play the guitar through a system of clamps - though this is much slower [obvi.] than normal instrument-play. He performs on the street for cash, i.e. begs in the better city of Boston, Masachusetts. He has never left the state.

Occasionally, when he feels like actually taking advantage of it or is in particular pain, he will file paperwork with the welfare, unemployment, or workman's comp. offices to collect additional income. Whatever he makes rarely tops 12,000$. He is no longer in contact with his mother or inmate uncle. And he doesn't remember his father at all.

Duff is currently running around sixwordstories, just_sayit, and ocdressing. This is subject to change. Also, he's bring written at justprompts but that may expand as well.

He is covertly dating Jack... and is actually refraining from being slutty for once. o/
